A break to not be broken

Hey y’all,

I am taking a break from writing for a while. This is primarily for practical reasons; while I’ll be away from here, I’ll be contributing on a project for Critical Distance through the end of December. I’m really excited, and you’ll hear more about it (and have a chance to participate) later this week. I’ll also be taking a break from social media for a little bit, with the exception of occasionally reposting stuff about how we can possibly throw monkeywrenches in the Israeli/Western colonial war machine as it floats into my cone of awareness.

I’m feeling pretty shitty brain-wise but focusing on other things while also taking it a little bit easier (I’m on a two-week vacation at my day job starting next week too) might help me not burn out. I don’t want to feel like shit, but I do, and I need to listen to what my body and brain are telling me or things will start to unravel. I might break my vow of silence and write something about, idk, Alan Wake II between now and late December, but it’s much more likely that I won’t be looking at any video games or games media Bluesky/X/Mastodon or even really crawling through Discord servers at all for the next like six weeks. I want to start the year strong next year, so I’ll take this space to announce that we’ll officially be open for pitches again starting January 1. (but hey, don’t start emailing me right this second unless you don’t want to receive a response until literally Monday 1/1/2024.)

Until then, free Palestine, abolish borders, fuck the government, pet a cat and eat good food for me.
