I’m gonna be up front with you: I’ve never really been a big fan of the kind of comedy that Devolver Digital displays with their Directs. I know what they’re trying to do, but I’m just not into the grossout shock stuff or their attempts at planting their tongues firmly in their cheeks as they market their games. That said, they’re absolutely refining their formula, as their continued “Pivot to Volvy” strategy went to some strange and fascinating places this year.
Past all that, they were also (blessedly) one of the least trailer-heavy shows of the weekend, with just six announcements to give us.
